Communications Committee: Help to manage the FoSA Website, & construct communications for all events.

Grant Writer: You will strive to receive funding from different organizations and individuals by researching, drafting and submitting proposals.

Hospitality Committee: You would set up/clean up coffee and snacks for FoSA meetings, Walk and Talk Tours and Coffees with the principal. Needed at least twice a month, this role can be filled by multiple people who take turns with the duties.

Silent Auction & Gala Committee: If you love to throw parties this is for you! You will plan and organize the entire event, including finding items for the auction and getting sponsors on board. This is a very fun committee and a chance to help with one of our largest fundraisers.

Yearbook Committee: Do you love graphic design & photography? This is for you! This committee takes on the entire design and sales of the yearbook.

Fall Festival Committee: If you love Halloween this is your jam! From Food, games, haunted house & entertainment - we need a lot of help with this beloved community event.

Winter Bazaar Committee: You will help find vendors, food, music and crafts for the kids. Plus, ensure the event is promoted within the school community and neighborhood.

Dolphin Derby Committee: Dolphin Derby is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. This event is held on campus, we'll need a lot of hands to help that day to MC, mark laps, hand out water, fruit and cheer kids on!

Penny Wars Committee: This is a student favorite and not too much work. We need you to set up the jugs, collect all the money at the end of the fundraiser and to find out who the winning class is.

Spirit Wear Committee: Design, promote, sell and distribute spirit wear throughout the school year.

Dolphin Cafe Committee: You would help to make sure Dolphin Cafes are running smoothly. Dolphin Cafes take place on select Friday mornings. FoSA sells refreshments before school. This is a great committee for an early riser.

Art Banner & Sponsorship Committee: Help find new sponsors and renew old sponsorship banners. Maintain relationships with sponsors to facilitate an ongoing relationship with Short Ave. Physically hang, take down and ensure banners are well maintained.

Restaurant Nights & Food Truck Fiesta Committee: Book restaurant nights and find food trucks. This position doesn't take a lot of time out of your schedule. Our community really enjoys these events and looks forward to them.

Edible Garden Committee: Would you like to spend more time outdoors? Spend time in the garden with children during their weekly gardening time. Help source and compost, organic fertilizer, plant cages and seeds. Donations for the garden are always welcome.

Beautification Committee: Our community comes together several times a year for Beautification Day. Help keep our campus clean by cleaning up, doing paint touch ups and handiwork around the school.

Library Committee: Do you love books? Come and help our librarian Ms Levy reshelf books and process new books. Interested volunteers will attend a short training session and thereafter can work independently at your leisure. You will also help staff the Book Fair Week.

Graduation Committee: This group organizes 5th Graduation reception at a local park for grads and their families in June. This consists of setting up coffee and refreshments, tending to guests and breaking down the reception. Typically performed by non-5th grade parents.

Room Parent: Be the main source of communication between your child's teacher, the families in their class and FoSA. Organize holiday/birthday/Teacher Appreciation gifts for your teachers. Plan class playdates. Support your teacher’s needs. Each class has 2-3 Room Parents. Email Katie Pawlik at katiepawlik@friendsofshortavenue.org if interested.
